NAID Certified® for Quality Assurance
It is easy to make claims and promises about security when no one is checking. There are shredding companies that offer "secure" information destruction services that in reality have inadequate security from lack of experience, low standards, or they are just not serious about security.
One simple test of a qualified company is to ask them if they are NAID Certified®. Only a NAID Certified® company has gone beyond claims and promises by submitting to a close examination of every aspect of their security.
NAID Certification was developed by information security professionals and is the recognized standard for proper and secure information destruction around the world. The process of becoming certified is extensive, and involves many operational commitments on the part of the certified vendor.
The certification process requires that all employees undergo background investigation, that all employees receive comprehensive security training, and that operation procedures and physical facilities incorporate many security safeguards. This includes both physical security measures as well as operational and information security procedures.
Further, NAID certification requires an initial audit, as well as ongoing audits, by an accredited, third party security professional to ensure compliance with all security guidelines and procedures. In all, compliance with more than 20 security standards is checked and verified before a company can achieve the NAID Certified® accreditation.
The following are some of the security specifications that security professionals verify...
- Persons with known history of related crimes are not employed
- Security and operations policies and procedures are written and followed
- Destruction equipment is functioning properly
- Access to materials is restricted at all times
- Containers and vehicles protect information from unauthorized access at all times during transport and processing
- Destroyed materials must be disposed of in a responsible manner, which does NOT include any type of reuse such as animal bedding or packing materials
- There is an audit trail, including CCTV image capture, and a thorough, documented chain of custody
Because your responsibility to maintain the confidentiality of the information being destroyed is not transferable to a shredding vendor, it is good business practice to choose a vendor whose security has been verified by accredited, third-party security professionals.
Our NAID Certified® accreditation proves our commitment to ensure the security of the information we handle on our customer's behalf.
We're NAID Certified®. . . that's quality you can trust.

We Can Help You Develop Information Destruction Policies and Procedures

As a result, laws now necessitate that such information be properly destroyed when discarded. These same laws also mandate that policies and procedures for destroying discarded information be established in writing.
